Pre-Employment and On the Job Training

TEAM UNITED will take a total team approach to the implementation of a Pre-employment Training program and an On the Job Training program. Both programs will be coordinated such that graduates of the pre-employment training are guaranteed an on-the-job training slot. TEAM UNITED will draw from the unique perspective of our team members in regards to the transportation industry as well as various other experts in adult career development. TEAM UNITED will team with the Aiken One-Stop to coordinate recruitment.

The 1st Pre-employment Training program, a two week training session designed to equip individuals with the skills necessary to become valuable members of the transportation construction industry was conducted from May 21st - June 1st. TEAM UNITED successfully recruited, hired and trained 8 individuals from the Aiken region. These individuals were taught basic road construction terminology, techniques for being successful in the construction environment. In addition, they were taught 1st Aid/CPR, defensive driving and received their OSHA 10- hour card among other courses. In an effort to continue to increase their knowledge base, upon graduation, each of these individuals has been guaranteed a slot in the on-the-job training program.

Palmetto Safety Solutions, Inc. (PSS) is the Program Coordinator and is responsible for the development and implementation of the Pre-Employment Training Program. Job openings and requirement will be posted to this site as they occur.
